I once knew a girl, quite sad of face
Because, you see, she lacked the grace
That fine young ladies do possess,
Along with beauty and finesse.
With button eyes and ribbon hair
And wooden body, light and fair
They say she was fairer than a pearl,
Dear Coppice, the living puppet girl.
8 minute performance piece using poetry, backlit screen and shadow puppet projection.
Performed at various venues in London, including The Southwark Playhouse, The Whitechapel Gallery and Tate Modern.
